With Spring in Full Swing, Here Are Some Tips on How to Tune up Your Lawn Mower

Spring is here, and as the weather gets nicer, many homeowners want to spend more time enjoying their outdoor spaces.

Chances are your yard needs some work after the winter, or, at the very least, your lawn needs mowing.

But after a long winter without use, your lawn mower probably needs a tuneup. But how, exactly, do you do that?

video from realtor.com shared tips on how to safely tune up your lawnmower, including:

  • Review the manual. Every lawn mower is different. Before you attempt to tune up your lawn mower, review the manual to see what kind of maintenance it needs and manufacturer-recommended procedures.
  • Disconnect the spark plug wire. Before you do any type of work on your lawn mower, disconnect the spark plug wire. That way, your engine can’t start, and you don’t accidentally turn it on and put yourself at risk of injury.
  • Clean the outside of the lawn mower. Before you do any tune up work, you should also clean the outside of the lawn mower, either with a rag or leaf blower. This will remove old grass and debris from the engine, making the rest of the tune up easier.
